UMass Hosting the Second Northeast Conference on Dynamical Systems, Nov 15-17

On November 15-17, 2019, the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, University of Massachusetts Amherst, will host the Second Northeast Conference on Dynamical Systems at LGRT 1634. This conference is supported by NSF DMS-1900397. The emphasis of this conference will be on the connection between dynamical systems and mathematical physics.

The conference starts on Friday, November 15th, 2:30 PM with two distinguished lectures given by Giovanni Gallavotti and Konstantin Khanin. Both of them are leading experts in mathematics physics. Giovanni Gallavotti was awarded with Boltzmann Medal in 2007 and Henri Poincare Prize in 2018. He was an ICM invited speaker in 1986 and a plenary speaker in 1998. Konstantin Khanin was a 2013 Simons Foundation Fellow and an ICM invited speaker in 2018. He also held the Jean-Morlet Chair at the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques in 2017.

Six more plenary talks and many short talks for young researchers will be followed on Saturday and Sunday.
