Handouts

The syllabus is this website.

Prof. Meeks has provided some excellent course material. Look at these reviews for midterm 1, midterm 2, final exam.

He has also created study guides for midterm 1, midterm 2 and the final exam.

Section policies

The main course website covers the essential course policies, including the course requirements, weekly schedule, and suggested homework problems.

You are required to purchase a WebAssign access in order to complete the homework. You can purchase access from the Textbook Annex when you buy your book, or you can buy access directly from WebAssign online. If you have not used WebAssign before, see me in my office hours.

Graphing calculators are not recommended. If you own a graphing calculator - great, but you can't use it on exams or quizzes.

Grading

Your overall course grade will be determined by your performance on two midterm exams, a final exam, homework and quizzes.

There are two midterms and each one will count for 25% of your final grade.

The final exam is worth 25% of the course grade and is comprehensive. Stay tuned for more info about the final later in the semester.

You are NOT permitted to use calculators for exams.

Homework will be completed online through WebAssign. However, a list of suggested homework problems from the text can be seen here. Homework is vitally important to the learning process and is worth 20% of your final grade (Almost the value of one exam). DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

There will be a pop Quizzes occasionally. They will be based on the assigned homework. Quizzes will be handwritten, closed notes and without calculator. Quiz scores will determine 5% of your final grade.
