Math 127: About exams

What to bring to exams

  • A supply of #2 pencils and an eraser
  • A graphing calculator (which may not be shared with another student during the exam)
  • For mid-semester exams one side of an 8.5-by-11 inch sheet of paper with whatever information you wish; for the final exam, both sides of such a sheet of paper
  • Your official UMass student ID card

All exams are multiple choice!

Mid-semester exams (25% each)

In the event of conflict with a regularly scheduled class or an officially scheduled evening exam in another class, or necessary absence for another officially recognized reason, it will be possible for you to take a make-up exam.  Each mid-semester make-up exam will be given the evening before the scheduled exam:

You must, however, contact the Math 127 Course Chair, Prof. Rudvalis (rudvalis@math.umass.edu), ahead of time to request a make-up exam. Tell him:

  • your name
  • your student ID number
  • which section # and instructor you are enrolled in
  • brief description of why you request a make-up exam

Prof. Rudvalis will reply (either on the weekend or the Monday) before the scheduled exam, either approving your request and telling you the make-up exam location, or else refusing your request.

Usually no makeups other than those above will be given, but if you feel you have special circumstances you may e-mail Prof. Rudvalis making sure to include all the information above.

Final exam (30%)

The final exam will be given at the officially-scheduled 2-hour time slot time during the final exam period.
