Algebraic Geometry/Commutative Algebra Seminar

September 14 Eyal Markman (University of Massachusetts, Amherst) Flops and derived categories, after Tom Bridgeland

References and links:
  • Stability conditions on derived categories: The main reference is Bridgeland's paper's math.AG/0212237 where this theory
was first developed. The beautiful paper math.AG/0307164 constructs the stability manifold of algebraic K3 surfaces. Also
see math.AG/0611510 for an expository account by Bridgeland.
  • Moduli of objects in derived categories: The first work dealing with the moduli of complexes is Inaba's Toward a definition of
moduli of complexes of coherent sheaves on a projective scheme
. A more complete and rather more technical treatment is Lieblich's
(''Mother of Moduli Spaces'') paper math.AG/0502198.For treatments of moduli spaces of stable complexes see math/0703590 by
Toda, arXiv:0708.2247 by Arcara, Bertram and Lieblich, and math.AG/0612078 by Inaba (which uses a diffrent notion of stability
    from Bridgeland's).
