Announcements
- Prof Zhigang Han will be giving two review sessions for the Final Exam:
Wednesday, May 14, 6-8pm in HASA0126 and Saturday, May 17, 2-4pm in HASA0124.
- The following is the assignment of exam time and location:
Exam 1 -- March 5, at 7:00-9:00pm in Thompson 104;
Exam 2 -- April 16, at 7:00-9:00pm in Thompson 104;
Final Exam -- May 19, 4:00-6:00pm, Boyden Physical Education Building.
- Formula Sheet (to be included in Exam 1).
- There will be a review session in 134 Hasbrook on Tuesday night: Penny Ridgdill will go over the practice problems for Exam I and Ex I from Fall 06 between 6 and 7pm. Robert Gardner will be there between 7 and 8pm and will go over problems taken from the S07 and F07 Exam I's.
- There will be no office hours on Monday, April 7.
- Exam 2 will cover the following topics: all material in Sections 14.1 through 14.8 + Section 12.6 on quadratic surfaces.
- Review Session for Exam 2: April 15, 5:30-7:30pm in Marcus 131 (by Molly Fenn and Zhigang Han).
- Preliminary, the make up for students in my section will be on Thursday, April 17 at 7:00-9:00pm in LGRT 1234 (we gather in my office LGRT 1238 at 6:50 first). But! I will give a make up only for those students who provide me a document about the exam conflict from the Registrar's Office (please bring the document even if you let me know about exam conflict by e-mail!).

Course Outline
The course covers: vector
analysis, geometry of surfaces and curves in the plane and in space,
functions of several variables, partial derivatives, integrals of
multivariable functions and applications.
Important Polices
No cheat sheets are allowed to bring to the exams. No formula sheet will be included in the exam. Please bring your student ID to the exam!
Grading
Your grade will be based on two midterm exams: 25% each; 25% Final Exam
and 25% from Instructor. All scores will be scaled to a 0-100 scale
before averaging. The final grading scale is

C-: 63% - 66% |
| B+: 82% - 85% |
D+: 60% - 63% |
| B: 77% - 82% |

Instructor's 25%
You will be assigned homework every week.
The homework will be collected at the beginning of class every Wednesday.
LATE HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED for any reasons and will be returned
ungraded. Not every homework problem will be graded. At the end of the
semester, I will drop the lowest homework grades.
Also, there will be quizzes on lecture meetings. Some quizzes will
be announced ahead of times while others will not be; usually quizzes
will be given one week before the scheduled exam.
Homeworks and quizzes must be yours alone. If you are going to miss a
class you must arrange delivering of you HW with some of your
classmates. To facilitate the handling of your papers, please, bring
them in order, stapled and well-identifiable.
I will drop the lowest homework grade and the lowest quiz grade.
Attendance will not be kept after the add/drop date of Feb 11.
Extra Credit Problems
I will give an extra credit for the following list of problems.
These problems are more difficult than the homework, but at the same
time are more challenging and interesting than the usual problems. It
is especially recommended for students who are considering majoring in
mathematics, physics or engineering.
