Text: J. Stewart, Calculus, Early Transcedentals, Volume I, CENGAGE Learning, 2008, Paperback.

Calculator: Each student is expected to have and use a Texas Instruments TI-86 or TI-89 (or similar) calculator.

Exams (60%): There will be 3 exams: 2 midterms and a final, all given and graded in common and each worth 20% of the course grade (combining for a total of 60%).

Exam 1: October 4, Tuesday, 7:00-9:00 p.m. This exam will take place in MARC 131 (in Marcus) and BART 65 (in Bartlett). The partition of the sections will be as follows: Sections D (Rudvalis), E, G (Chong) and I (Wilson) will be in BART 65. Sections A (Oloo), B (Cook), F (Kevrekidis) and J (Johnson) will be in MARC 131. Exam 1 will cover the material from Chapter 5 and 6.1-6.2.
Exam 2: November 17, Thursday, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Exam 2 will cover the material from Chapter 7 and Chapter 10.
Final Exam: December 15, Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. The exam for the entire Math 132 class (i.e., ALL sections) will take place in the Totman Gym. The exam will be cumulative but mostly (about 60%) geared towards Chapter 11 (Sequences/Series). A calculator can be used in the final exam. Make-ups will not be given to accomodate travel plans.

Symbolics Test (20%): There will be a symbolics test on computing indefinite integrals (worth 20% of the total grade). It will take place on Tuesday, October 25, 7:00-8:30 p.m.. In this test, students are not permitted to use their calculators. The symbolics test will cover the material from sections 5.4-5.5 and 7.1-7.5 and will consist only of indefinite integrals.

Instructor's Grade (20%): Each instructor will determine a 20% of the student's grade based on the student's performance in the class (e.g., in quizzes, homeworks, class attendance and participation).

Grading Scale:
90% $\leq$ A $\leq$ 100% 87% $\leq$ A$-$ $\leq$ 89%
83% $\leq$ B$+$ $\leq$ 86% 80% $\leq$ B $\leq$ 82%
77% $\leq$ B$-$ $\leq$ 79% 73% $\leq$ C$+$ $\leq$ 76%
70% $\leq$ C $\leq$ 72% 67% $\leq$ C$-$ $\leq$ 69%
63% $\leq$ D$+$ $\leq$ 66% 60% $\leq$ D $\leq$ 62%
0% $\leq$ F $\leq$ 59%

The score on each of the five relevant parts (Exams 1 and 2, Symbolics Test, Final Exam and Instructor's Grade) will be scaled to the 0-100 scale. The numbers will be added and divided by 5. The resulting average will determine the course grade according to the scheme mentioned above.

Students needing special exam accomodation must present documentation from Disability Services to their instructor no later than two weeks before the exam.
