General information: This is the link for Math 233 Section 1 only. Homework assignments, however, may vary from section to section. For Section 1, it is your responsibility to check the link on the left for updates.

Textbook: Calculus: Early Transcendentals (5th Edition) by James Stewart. The text book annex now has a small packet with chapter 10 which costs $7.75; if you have the "big" book then it has this chapter in it.

Course Description: Techniques of calculus in two and three dimensions. Vectors, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, line integrals. Prerequisites: Math 132.

Grading Policy: 25% for homework.
                            25% midterm exam I.
                            25% midterm exam II.
                            25% for the final exam.

Exams: There will be two midterms, and one final. The following dates and times are likely to be correct, but are contingent upon room assignments from the scheduling office. Further information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
 
         Midterm I:   March 5 (Wednesday), 7-9pm. Location: Thompson 102
         Midterm II: April 16 (Wednesday), 7-9pm. Location: Thompson 102
         Final exam: May 19 (Monday), 4-6pm. Location: Boyden Gym.

Homework: Homework will be assigned each week and will be collected every Wednesday. The assignments will appear on the left. The grading will be based on the detailed solutions of 2 or 3 problems (you don't know which ones) and the overall effort in attempting all other problems. No late homework will be accepted. Two lowest scores will be dropped.

Attendence: Attendence and participation are important for your success in this course. While I do not intend to assign a concrete score for attendence, frequent absences and active class participation will both be reflected in your grade, one way or the other.
