Reading Assignments:    Before each class, review textbook materials as indicated in the course syllabus below. It is a very good idea to try your hands at some problems before coming to class, as this will help you formulate questions you can raise in class. Suggested problems will be assigned by the individual instructor, but not collected. Quiz questions will often come directly from the list of suggested problems.
Exams: The midterm (covering Chapters 1,2, and 3) will take place in the evening (6-7:30) on Thursday, October 28, 2004 (tentative date) (the room will be determined later and announced in class). Do not miss the exam. Make-up exams will be given only in exceptional circumstances. The date and time for the final are to be determined.
Standards Project: A few weeks into the term, you will be assigned a specific topic from the NCTM Standards for teaching PreK-8. You will research and design a lesson plan related to the selected topic and prepare an oral as well as a written presentation of same. The presentations will take place near the end of the term. Follow this link for more details.
