"Calculus, Early Transcedentals" 5th Ed. by J. Stewart
|
| |
|
Format:
|
The section will closely follow the course syllabus, though
some extra material as well as examples/applications may be presented during
lectures. Every student is expected to consult the theory in the book and to
work out the suggested problems (even if not assigned).

|
Homework:
|
There will be regular homework sets due at the beginning of every class.
Though homework assignments will not be directly
used for grade evaluation, they are an important and crucial part of the
course, allowing you to strengthen the understanding of the material, and me -
to help you master it. A weekly problem session will be arranged.
You are allowed and encouraged to work together on the homework, but the final write-up must represent and reflect your
understanding.
No late homework will be accepted!

Grading:
|
Three quarters of the raw (percentage) grade will be decided upon the three exams, two midterms and a final, each accounting for 25% of the grade. The remaining 25% will mainly reflect your overall performance and progress in the class and on the homework assignments. Each student is welcome to discuss his/her performance or grade at any time during the semester.
