Exams are multiple-choice. You will be expected to use a calculator on the exams and for OWL homework. Exams will be based on the list of assigned problems given below, the worked out problems in the text, class lectures, additional materials given in class, and OWL homework. There will be no formula or note cards allowed. No cell-phones or such devices will be allowed on exams. Every student will be expected to present a UMASS student ID card with a clear picture at the end of each exam. Driver's licenses from Massachusetts or elsewhere or any other photo ID card are not allowed. If you do not have such a card, get one or do not take the course!
New Policy: NO NOTE CARDS OR ADDITIONAL MATERIALS ALLOWED ON EXAMINATIONS. All extra materials will be provided by the instructor.
Course Grade: There are four components to your grade. Each of the two exams is worth 25%. The final exam is worth 35%, OWL homework is worth 15%. (No one failing the final exam will receive a final grade higher than C no matter what your average going into the final exam was!!!)
Calculators: Since this is a calculus course, the calculator should have graphing capability and it must be able to calculate expressions like e5. Something like the TI 81, 82, etc. will be fine. Calculators are necessary for all exams. Lap-top computers are not allowed.
