Exam schedule

These are the proposed dates for midterm examinations. We will follow this schedule unless I announce otherwise. Midterms are held three times during the semester in class. There is a review on the previous evening, Wednesday, before each exam, in the classroom.

Midterm 1:  Thursday, March 2, in class
    review: Wednesday, March 1, 6:30-9:00pm

Midterm 2:  Thursday, April 6, in class
    review: Wednesday, April 5, 6:30-9:00pm

Midterm 3:  Thursday, May 11, in class
    review: Wednesday, May 10, 6:30-9:00pm

Important dates (cf. the UMASS Academic Calendar)

*Tuesday, January 31 - First day of classes.
*Monday, February 13 - Last day of add/drop.
*Monday, February 20 - No class - Presidents Day.
*Tuesday, February 21 - Monday class schedule will be followed.
*March 18 - March 26 - Spring recess.
*Monday, April 17 - No class - Patriot's Day.
*Wednesday, April 19 - Monday class schedule will be followed.
*Tuesday, May 16 - Last class in Math 300.
*Wednesday, May 17 - Last day of classes.

Homework

Homework is generally assigned and collected in discussion by your TA Brian Wilson at bawil0student.umass.edu. Any changes or important notes will be listed here.

Quizzes

Quizzes are given during discussion section. Quizzes count 1 point for each problem. You can take a quiz a second time 1 week later but with 2 points taken off. Also, 2 points deducted for each week late that it is taken. See the note packet for a list of all the quizzes that will be given during the semester.
