Announcements and useful stuff:
- Final Exam: Wednesday, Dec 20, 8:00 - 10 AM in Boyden Gym.
- You are allowed two sides of a piece of notebook paper for formulas, etc.
- Exam covers the whole course: 1/3 on Chs 1 and 2; 1/3 on Chs 3 and 4; and 1/3 from Ch 5.
- OWLS to reopen this Wed until next Wed: you may do any OWL to receive full credit. Redoing an existing
OWL for practice will never lower your score.

- Text: The textbook is Applied Calculus (3rd Edition) by Hughes-Hallet et al.

- Calculator: You will need a graphing calculator. Any decent scientific calculator with graphing capability should be
good.
For sure, anything in the TI- 8? series will do the trick.
- Exams: There are two midterms and a final exams.
- Midterm I: Thursday, October 19, 6:30-8 P.M.
- Midterm II: Thursday, November 16, 6:30-8 P.M. in Thomsen 106.

- Grading: Grading for this section will be as follows:
- 80% of your grade comes from the exams (see the general course webpage above).
Each midterm counts 25 % and the final counts 30 %.
- In this section, 20% of the grade will be determined by the OWL homework assignments
(I will drop the 2 lowest OWL assignment scores from your grade).
- You must pass at least one exam in order to pass the course.
